Aviation website design

Short answer: Sightline Aviation designs and builds websites for private jet charter operators, aircraft management companies, FBOs and other aviation businesses. Each site is built on your real aircraft, people and verified facts, loads fast on a phone, works for everyone, and launches without throwing away the search rankings you already have.

What does an aviation website have to do?

Three jobs. Prove you're a real, safe, qualified business. Show what a customer will actually get: the aircraft, the facility, the people. Make the next step easy, whether that's a charter quote, an owner enquiry or arranging services before arrival. Everything on the site should serve one of those.

What makes an aviation site look trustworthy?

How fast and accessible should it be?

Fast enough that nobody waits. Google's Core Web Vitals describe a good experience as the main content loading within 2.5 seconds, the page responding to a tap within 200 milliseconds, and almost no layout shift (web.dev on Core Web Vitals). We build to those targets with sized, compressed images and minimal scripts.

Accessible enough that everyone can use it: keyboard navigation, visible focus, readable contrast and meaningful image descriptions, following WCAG 2.2, the W3C's accessibility standard (W3C's WCAG overview).

How do you redesign without losing rankings?

By treating your existing URLs as assets. Before anything changes, we list every page that search engines know about, keep the valuable addresses, and map each page that has to move to its new home. Google recommends permanent server-side redirects that point each old URL straight to its final destination (Google's guide to site moves). We test every redirect before launch and keep a rollback ready.

What does a project look like?

  1. Discovery: we audit your current site, search visibility and competitors, and agree what success looks like.
  2. Facts and plan: every claim about aircraft, certificates and ratings is checked with you first.
  3. Design and build: you review a private preview. Nothing touches your live site yet.
  4. Launch: a controlled switch-over with redirects tested and a rollback ready.
  5. Measure: monthly reporting and new content, based on what the data shows.

Frequently asked questions

Will a new website hurt our Google rankings?

It can if URLs change without redirects. We list every existing URL first, keep the valuable ones, and point each old URL that has to move directly at its new page with a permanent redirect, then test them before launch.

Can we use stock photos of jets?

Not as your aircraft. Customers and brokers notice, and it undermines trust. We build around your own fleet and facility photos; stock imagery, if any, is limited to mood shots such as sky and clouds and never captioned as yours.

Do we own the website?

Yes. Your domain, your analytics and your content stay yours.

How much does a website cost?

A one-time website project fee, then an optional monthly plan for search, content and reporting. Every quote is scoped to your business, starting with a 20-minute call.
